How Invisalign Works
The key to Invisalign’s success is the unmatched precision of our technology. We start the process by using our iTero® intraoral scanner to generate a virtual 3D model of your teeth so we can create your customized treatment plan.
Thanks to Invisalign’s unique SmartTrack® material, our aligners are comfortable and easy use. Throughout your treatment, we’ll precisely track the movement of each tooth to make sure everything’s going according to plan.
Best of all, using our advanced digital technology, we can show you what your new smile is going to look like before your treatment even begins. This makes it easy to feel confident about the Invisalign process, knowing the final results will be exactly the way you visualize them.
Wearing Your Aligners
You’ll want to wear your Invisalign aligners consistently to achieve the stunning results you desire. It’s recommended to keep them on for 20 to 22 hours per day.
Unlike metal braces, your thermoplastic aligners never need tightening, so there are fewer appointments necessary — we’ll see you for check-ups every eight-ten weeks. During these visits, you’ll be given four – six sets of aligners to last until your next visit.
Maintaining Your Aligners
Keeping your aligners clean is a simple and straightforward process. Unlike metal braces, you won’t have to worry about getting food stuck in your wires or damaging your brackets while brushing your teeth.
Invisalign clear aligners are easily removable for your convenience. You simply take them out when it’s time for a meal. That’s why there are no restrictions on what you can eat.
Simply remove your aligners before each meal, and make sure to brush and floss your teeth before putting them back in. When you’re not wearing them, store your aligners in the plastic case that’s provided for their protection.
Is Invisalign treatment painful?
Not at all — you may feel some pressure for a day or so, but this will dissipate quickly as you adjust to your new aligners.
Are there restrictions on what I can eat?
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign clear aligners are removable. This allows you to enjoy all your favorite foods without impacting your treatment.
Can I chew gum while wearing my aligners?
No — gum will stick to your aligners and potentially damage them. If you want to chew gum, remove your aligners first, but make sure you’re still wearing them for the recommended amount of time.
Will wearing the aligners affect my speech?
It will take you a little while to get used to your aligners, but you’ll be able to speak normally and confidently while wearing them.
